Well the hurricane season has began, and currently Debby is making herself known. How do you feel about travel to those areas near the hurricane spots? Have you ever taken advantage of all the travel deals that occur during hurricane season? Are you afraid of the unknown, or do you just watch what the television display to make your decisions?

According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration the odds of a hurricane being a threat to your short vacation is 1 in 50. There are things that you can do to ensure that the places you will reside at during this time has taken all precautions; just in case. There are also websites that post information about hurricanes such as Carribbean Hurricane Guide, Hurricane City, and of course the NOAA website.  We all know that anything along the Gulf Coast has the highest risk of being hit by the hurricane so if your travel plans are in this location please plan accordingly and check ahead.

-Give your family details of your trip so they will not have to worry should any detours come about.
-Register with your embassy.
-Take a list of emergency phone numbers with you, and be sure to stay in touch with family and friends back at home.
